Students’ visions for Greening Headingley

In January 2022, 3rd year landscape architect students from Leeds Beckett University presented their ideas for greening up parts of Headingley at the Heart Centre

We heard about the great work of the Greening Up volunteers, planting and tidying a range of small areas, support from the Arndale centre and Leeds Council Parks dep’t. An exciting new project starting in September is that 27 students of landscape architecture are coming to Headingley to translate all our ideas into professional drawings and images to produce a Vision of a Future Headingley.

From tiny forgotten corners to major roadside transformations we hope to obtain a portfolio of ideas and plans to inform our future actions and campaigns to turn headingley into a green, sustainable and nature friendly community.

The students would like to talk to anyone who has some ideas for how their corner, street, local area or the whole of Headingley could be improved, so that their drawings can reflect what residents want. If you have any ideas and especially if you are interested in being interviewed please contact us.
